PALACES & STOREFRONTS- DURBAR SQUARE

Mom carrying her son on her back on the outside of the Royal Palace in Durbar Square.

The interior courtyard of the Royal Palace with exquisite delicate wood working around the doors and windows

Random little scenes spread around the courtyards and walls of the back alleys and apartment buildings. I spent a lot of time wander through the back walkways and streets of the city. I was on my own a lot looking everywhere for photos ops.

A lot of the doorways had little specialty businesses that opened onto the small streets. Selling clay pots, bean, spices and nuts, the woman in the doorway had bags and pans full of mushrooms. The man in the photo at the bottom cooked up big juicy donuts for the local market.

Giant banyan tree growing out of small shrine on the road to Durbar Square

Inside one of 500+ temples in Durbar I found this young lady, bathed in afternoon light, patiently waiting for a friend

This little girl had just let go of a butterfly she had caught after a short rainstorm

Street vendors selling trinkets and food along the streets and alleys. Frequently whatever they were selling could be bundled into a blanket and cared over the shoulder.

George took this from the rooftop while he was having lunch. He says I'm down there somewhere running around like the Energizer Bunny taking photos
