WOMANS TEEJ FESTIVAL & RETURN to LOS ANGELES

Entering the big Womans Teej Festival in the outskirts of Katmandu where women of all ages make offerings for the sake of love and perhaps the search for a good husband. These young lady are getting a good dose of henna drawings on their hands and arms

Long queues of women, offerings in hand waiting to be ushered into the temple all the way down and around the corner from this street

Very crowded festival with thousands of women, men, police, military units, tourists (not many surprisingly) cleaning crews, and entire families. Everything was organized and peaceful with the women on one side, the men on the other side of the temple corridors.

One of the offerings made by the men in line to get into the temple.

These amazing groups of cleaning women that kept wandering the courtyards sweeping up spilled offerings, and other debris. They were a feisty bunch and I got to hang out with them a bit and listened to them gossip while taking a break.

A British tourist that we met at Nabins hotel and tagged along with us on the walk to the compound. She got a blessing on her forehead during the ceremony.

The cutest little girl in the cutest little dress we saw as we left the ceremony. She seemed to underscore how cute, pretty and lively the children of Nepal were. We headed back to the hotel to pack our luggage and get to the airport early in the morning for a flight out of the Katmandu airport. It was a long pain in the tail process.

This little boy and old man rang bells and called out the time as they wandered through the city streets.

Back home at Los Angeles Airport with my buddy George who was my travel companion throughout Tibet & Nepal. The most solid guy a friend could ask for.

The whole family met me at the airport, my wife, Joyce, Lauren, Steve and Angie. Glad to be back home after a couple of months in Asia.
